A more meaningful Valentines Day

We'll be seeing a lot of pink and hearts during this annual festival. Most people grab this opportunity to do elaborate stuff like buying their partners bedazzling jeweleries or eloquent dinners in the town's fanciest restaurant just to mark Valentines day.

I know its romantic and some people would think its heart warming. But what would you do IF you were broke? Not having enough money to put bread on the table or so to say for your family? Would you think about spending lavishly on something just to celebrate this event??

Obviously its a straight forward NO!

There are around 6.9 billion human beings on this planet and approximately half of the 6.9 billion are living in poverty. Don't they deserve to live a life as good as ours?

We should always remember there are many people who are less fortunate than us. If we couldn't help them, the least we could do is not waste our money on things that we'd throw away sooner or later (don't tell me you're gonna keep that valentines card or that pink bear forever!).

There was a less-than-famous quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupery saying" Life has meaning only if one barters it day by day for something other than itself"

Thus we should not take for granted for what we have and treasure our time with our loved ones. We should also dedicated our lives in serving others and helping people in need.

All of us are just human beings sharing a place on the face of this planet. Lets commemorate Valentines day by helping each other to make the days of our lives more beautiful......
